Celebrating All the Winners of Yavapai County’s Workforce Development Board Awards

November 20, 2019

Recently, YAVAPAI@WORK was honored to present our annual achievement awards to six individuals who have overcome significant obstacles and found successful employment. While we are immensely proud of these people for these achievements, we were also happy to hand out several other awards at our annual retreat.

Here are the awards that YAVAPAI@WORK was honored to hand out and the people who earned them by working hard every day to make our community successful.

Chairman’s Award

The chairman’s award, presented by the WDB’s Chairman, Anita Payne, was given to Mark Timm. Mark is the Human Resources Director at the Yavapai Regional Medical Center and has been serving his community in this role for more than 16 years.

Yavapai Regional Medical Center provides an abundance of services and supports to the people of this county and it would be hard to imagine where Yavapai county would be without the YRMC.

Director’s Award

Accepting the award from WDB’s Executive Director, Teri Drew, Craig Lefever is the Director of Adult Education at Yavapai College and has been instrumental in YAVAPAI@WORK’s education initiatives.

Retraining the population with industrial and marketable skills is one of the strategies that YAVAPAI@WORK uses to promote community success and with more than 1,000 citizens engaging with our training programs in the last year alone. Craig and his educators have a large and distinctive role to play in our continuing success.

Leadership Awards

Our Leadership Awards are presented to individuals and companies we believe go above and beyond the call of duty to foster the local talent and economy in Yavapai County, and we are proud to say that 3 companies have won our praise this year.

This trio of excellence includes:

  • Natalie Haertlein of American Family Insurance
  • Aspen Communications
  • Yavapai County Assessor’s Office

All three of these companies have given back to their communities far more than was asked, and they even provided the employment opportunities for some of our Achievement Award winners. We thank them for their service to Yavapai County and look forward to helping make this county even more successful in the 2019/2020 year.

YAVAPAI@WORK is always ready to honor the dedication and compassion that our citizens and organizations deliver every day, and we want to make sure every community gets their own recognition.
